SolarShare Newsletter July 2019

Dear SolarShare Supporter,

We hope you’re staying warm this winter. We certainly have, as our team works on the final details to move closer to the construction of the community solar farm! Here are all the latest details on our progress.

Welcome!

The SolarShare team would like to extend a big welcome to all 400 of our new members. Over $2.36 million has been received from community based investors. This phenomenal community engagement allows SolarShare to transition to the next phase of development.

SolarShare Principal Executive Officer, Lawrence McIntosh, is incredibly pleased with the progress made, “this demonstrates that there is enormous community support for locally based large-scale renewable energy projects”.

SolarShare hits the Canberra Times

SolarShare featured in the Canberra Times last month, with SolarShare Chair, Nick Fejer, giving a run-down on our progress and future direction.

Fejer explains the current details of the community owned solar farm, how we reached our investment target and the benefits the farm will produce.

Progress Update

The SolarShare team has been busy in the last month, making final preparations before construction begins in August.

Landscaping consultations for our Majura site are now complete. A big thankyou to the many people and organisations who were able to provide feedback, your assistance is much appreciated.

In late June, we received our connection offer documents from Evo Energy, who maintain and operate the ACT’s energy network. The offer documents outline details on how the solar farm will connect to the ACT electricity grid. We are now working on the details of this offer with Evo Energy. More on this next month.

SolarShare is also working on our Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) with Epho, a solar power company, specialising in commercial solar power solutions, construction and maintenance. We are looking to finalise consultations with Epho in the next couple of weeks.

Thank you again to all of our supporters and investors. This is a very exciting time for SolarShare and we will continue to keep you updated on all of the latest news and progress.

Sunny regards,

The SolarShare team
